BACK WATER NON RETURN VALVES HELP TO PREVENT FLOODING.

Back water non return valves help prevent flooding via a simple flap that closes off your drainage system soon as your water disappears down the outlet pipe .

backwater non return valves come in different sizes to fit the differing pipe sizes buried underground on your property 110mm , 160mm ,200mm ,250mm,315mm and 400mm.

You can fit a back water non return valve as a DIY project it has clear arrows on the side to ensure the flow direction is correct.

the stainless steel inner flap valve lifts when your washing machine empties for example or shower , bath sink water passes threw the valve , the flap then drops down and stops water from coming back along the pipes underground .

Back water non return valves also come with a double flap system and the internal flap valve can be manually switched off in extreme cases, this is also handy if you needed to clean or just check the inner workings of your backwater non return valve .

You can also purchase back water non return valves to fit on your rainwater or soil down pipes.

HOW DO I FIT A BACKWATER NON RETURN VALVE.

Locate the outlet drainage pipe from your property and dig down to expose the pipe in question , this may be different on every property ensure you have the correct pipe .

cut the pipe in question and use drainage couplings to fasten your back water non return valve securely in place .

then protect the valve and pipe by installing manhole risers and a new lid back to surface level ,back fill the dig with the proper materials to avoid subsidence around the new area.

the risers and lid make a new inspection chamber to give you access to the new valve you have just installed.

it is always preferred that you ask a qualified person before digging close to any drainage pipes.         https://www.asapseptictanks.co.uk/product/non-return-valve-110mm/
